Russian Tea

“A little cup of friendship in this cup of Tea, When you sit and drink it, think of Love from me.”

Make some memories this Christmas with my special tea recipe for the holidays. It has the aromas of cinnamon, clove and lemon, mingled with hot fruit juices and fine Bourbon. This tea tastes like Christmas in a cup. It is citrusy, sweet and spicy.

4 cups water
3 tsp whole leaf Orange Pekoe Tea
1 cup fresh Orange juice
1/2 cup fresh Pineapple juice
3/4 cup Bourbon
Juice of 1 Lemon
2 Cloves
1 cinnamon stick
6 tsp organic honey

Boil water with the spices for 5 mins and remove from heat. Add tea to pre-boiled water, cover and steep for another 5 minutes. On the side, heat juices together in a saucepan and bring to boil, stirring occasionally. Now add the strained hot tea and heat the mixture together for another 2 mins. Remove from heat, squeeze the lemon juice, stir in honey and bourbon. Your special tea is ready…serve hot!

Enjoy this tea by yourself, or make and share with your family and guests at holiday get-togethers.

“Drinking tea with a pinch of imagination!” – 50 Ways to Drink Tea

This is one of my favorite tea recipes for summer- it’s my refreshing Spice Tea Sangria. It has beautiful notes of many flavors of herbs, fruits and cinnamon, with refreshing and citrousy aftertaste.

3 Tbsp Black Tea (Black tea is preferred in infusions, as it goes well with strong flavors of fruits and spices)
2 Cinnamon sticks
3 Sliced Oranges
1 cup Sliced Peaches
1 cup Sliced Strawberries
3 Sliced Lemons
Mint leaves
Organic Sugar
Red Wine (Optional)

In a teapot or jar, add tea leaves to pre-boiled water and steep for 4 minutes. Strain out leaves and let tea cool to room temperature, then chill in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight. Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher. Top it with lots of mint leaves. Pour into ice-filled glasses. Makes 5 to 6 servings. Also, you can use oolong tea instead of black tea, if desired. Choose a lightly oxidized/fermented oolong to complement the sangria’s fruity, spicy flavors.
