REVIEW – Arya Tara Wonder by Himcoop Nepal

rangsaa tea reviewDescription of tea
The dry tea consists of slightly rolled leaves with scattered downy tips. The ample splashes of fresh green and brown leaves, add color and elegance. Aroma is impressive – strong, grassy, herbal with sweet notes.

Infused Tea/Unique Characteristics
The leaves brew a pale-golden color liquor with an amber hue. Aroma is foresty. The flavor is crisp, clean, complex and engaging. The top notes are predominantly grassy, floral, woody and grainy. Vegetal, muscatel and unique undertones, like the taste of crispy burnt ends of a cookie, build in the back of the mouth. Something is special about this one! Texture is thick/cloudy and has a wonderful buttery mouthfeel. The finish is more tannic than astringent, and has the expected high-mountain black tea’s ever-so-classic dryness and lingering aftertaste.

Infusion
I brewed 4 tsp of tea leaves in a 500ml glass teapot for 5 mins. Preferred water temperature was around 90C. The lighter-toned fresh-green wet leaves reflect the quality and delicate nature of the tea. There are a lot of flavors and character in the infusion, but I feel this tea’s winning trait is its new-wood freshness. I refilled my teapot once and a cup after 8 minutes was refined, balanced and totally enjoyable!

Arya Tara Wonder is a tea that reflects the skill of its grower. It’s a delicate, fine black tea that would give you the love of both white and green tea. Personally, as a wine lover and a fan of praiseworthy high-mountain first flush teas, I recommend this tea for its intricate personality and beautiful palate experience.

REVIEW – Doke Black Infusion by Lochan Tea

Doke tea reviewDescription of Tea
The dry leaves consist of long, dark, hand-rolled, twisted leaves with scattered tips. The aroma is woody, sweet and earthy.

Infused Tea/Unique Characteristics
The leaves brew a golden-brown liquor that has multitude of flavors. The infusion is medium-bodied, with zero astringency and buttery mouthfeel. The distinct amber and muscatel notes, delightfully compliment the subtle hints of malt and cocoa, giving the brew a very crisp, clean finish, and a refreshing aftertaste. The merger of flavours is adventurous!

Infusion
1 tsp of leaves were infused in 230 ml pre-boiled water at  95 C for 2 minutes. I got three infusions out of this tea. Each of the three steeps I had were engaging, perfectly smooth and well balanced.

This is a very unique and interesting black tea. The way it’s tasting notes unfurl with the leaves, is very intriguing. It made me curious and I wanted to bond with it more, with every sip.

“Drinking tea with a pinch of imagination!” – 50 Ways to Drink Tea

This is one of my favorite tea recipes for summer- it’s my refreshing Spice Tea Sangria. It has beautiful notes of many flavors of herbs, fruits and cinnamon, with refreshing and citrousy aftertaste.

KEY INGREDIENTS
3 Tbsp Black Tea (Black tea is preferred in infusions, as it goes well with strong flavors of fruits and spices)
2 Cinnamon sticks
3 Sliced Oranges
1 cup Sliced Peaches
1 cup Sliced Strawberries
3 Sliced Lemons
Mint leaves
Organic Sugar
Red Wine (Optional)

PREPARATION
In a teapot or jar, add tea leaves to pre-boiled water and steep for 4 minutes. Strain out leaves and let tea cool to room temperature, then chill in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight. Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher. Top it with lots of mint leaves. Pour into ice-filled glasses. Makes 5 to 6 servings. Also, you can use oolong tea instead of black tea, if desired. Choose a lightly oxidized/fermented oolong to complement the sangria’s fruity, spicy flavors.

BEST ENJOYED
Summer parties along with summer dresses, with good music and company. It’s simple and perfect for moments when you want to surprise someone, give them some tea inspiration or just party away the summer!

Tea for athletes

Intense training normally results in oxidative damage to muscles, inflammation, release of the stress hormone cortisol and possibly delayed-onset muscle soreness, or DOMS. A concentrated extract from black tea lowered the incidence and intensity of these side effects in a group of college-age male athletes, according to a study published in “Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition.” The reduction of these factors led to faster recovery and the ability to train more intensely.
